Ingredients

  • 8 turnips washed and scrubbed, and shredded in a processor or cut in matchbook slices
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegebase or other vegetable powder
  • 1 pinch turmeric optional
  • 1/2 cup dried soybeans they often come ‘lightly salted’

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, add the water, Vegebase and turnips.
  • Cook and stir several times until the turnips are translucent, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon right before serving. Add a pinch of optional turmeric for an even more golden color.
  • Note: You can add the soybeans anytime during the cooking to soften them up. Or you can add them after cooking for a contrasting crunch.
