Eco Dogs and Cats: Vegan Pet Food and Toys

As vegan foods and cuisine have gone from exotic to mainstream, some new pet food companies have developed vegan food for dogs and cats.  Popular brands – AMI, Evolution, and Natural Balance, to name a few – provide wholesome veggie foods and nutrients for our companion pets.  Eco Dogs and Cats, a young, online company, caters to this niche market by offering an array of vegan pet foods along with adorable pet toys, beds, and blankets.

Delta Farrington, owner of Eco Dogs and Cats, has been a vegan for 24 years.  Both of her pets, Hannah, a golden retriever, and Tom, a gray and white rescue cat, are healthy vegans, too. When asked if vegan food was safe for cats, Delta explained, “Cats do need taurine – a substance naturally found in meat.  Vegan cat food products contain a non-meat, synthetic taurine, which keeps them healthy.”

Delta’s pets thrive on fruits and veggies.  “My cat loves cantaloupe, avocado, and coconut.  My dog eats fruit for breakfast and raw veggies during the day.”
