Holistic Holiday at Sea – A Voyage to Well-Being

As the weather on the east coast is getting colder, it’s fun to think about sunny beaches and warm ocean breezes… and we discovered a fabulous opportunity to relax and rejuvenate this spring.  Have you heard about Holiday at Sea?

Holiday at Sea – A Voyage to Well-Being is a week long cruise designed to promote health, education, and most importantly, relaxation. The vegan vacation stops in beautiful ports of the Carribbean and features lectures, workshops and lessons presented by some of the biggest names in plant-based diets and health.

The trip will take place from March 3 – 10 with stops in St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. There will be shore excursions at each stop, ranging from cultural tours to sports-oriented trips for those who want to keep active during the stops.

The lectures feature keynote speaker Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr. M.D., an early leader in cardio-vascular medicine and plant-based diets. Dr. Esselstyn has done national TV and radio appearances, and recently recommended a plant-based diet to former President Bill Clinton. Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author and research scientist will be leading classes on the benefits of vegan eating. President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and leading vegan advocate Dr. Neal Barnard will speak on the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Spiritual vegan advocate Dr. Gabriel Cousens is a medical doctor and homeopathic physician that will also be a keynote speaker. There are also cooking classes aimed to entertain and education featuring internationally known vegan chefs.

The cruise also concentrates on fitness, not just health through a vegan diet. There are daily yoga sessions, pilates classes, and other physical fitness activities. While the aim is education and fitness, the Holistic Holiday at Sea also is about relaxation and fun. There are concerts, parties, and vegan social events to meet like-minded people and make friends. The social activities range from family events to singles’ mixers.  Click here to watch a video recap of the 2011 cruise, and hear guests give their feedback about the Holistic Holiday at Sea.

The cruise cuisine caters features vegan food is overseen by Mark Hanna, a internationally known natural food chef. The menu is designed to allow vegans to enjoy a vacation without having to worry about finding food for their diet. The cruise menu is 100% vegan, and has daily gluten-free options. The staff even works with individuals for those guest working with a specialist on a specific health issue.

What an amazing opportunity to hear all of these well-known plant-based experts in one location!
